Influence of Doppler broadening model accuracy in Compton camera list-mode MLEM reconstruction

The Compton camera is a gamma ray imaging device expected to provide clinically relevant images in the SPECT applications where collimated cameras are sub-optimal. Its performances depend not only on design of detection system but also choices related tomographic reconstruction. aim this work show that accuracy modelling acquisition largely influences quality images. For purpose, we restrict here Doppler broadening models conjunction with list-mode maximum likelihood expectation maximization (LM-MLEM) algorithm. study was carried out Monte-Carlo simulation. We reconstructed point spread function location-dependent when model accurate, and usual elongation artefacts well-known will appear. propose allows us reconstruct isolated sources more complex non-uniform improved resolution even direction orthogonal camera.
